1) GET THE SOFTWARE:
When creating a web site, your software can be the biggest expenditure, but it is what you need if you are serious about your web site. Below is the software that you need.
1.1) Graphics software:
You will need a software to make graphics for your site. We recommend, Fireworks for low cost, and Photoshop for serious designers.
1.2) Editing:
You will need editing software to actually build your web site. 2 good editing products are Front Page 2000 which is low cost, and then the professional Dreamweaver by macromedia, both do a great job.
1.3) Publishing:
You will also need publishing software if your editing software does not publish to the web. Any FTP program will do.
2) GET A DOT COM:
Let's face it, if you want to be taken seriously, you NEED a dot com.
2.1) Get one:
Get a dot com today at our Domain Registration service for only $35 a year.
3) GET A WEB HOST:
If you are serious about your site, or online business, you should get pay hosting, but free hosting is always an option.
3.1) Quality:
If you are using pay hosting and your host is always down, then drop them. Pay hosting should be up 99% percent of the time. To find a pay web host click here.
4) BUILD YOUR SITE:
This is a very complicated task, that is easier said than done. For a good quality site it could take you between 2-4 months.
4.1) Pay design:
Pay web site design is not recommended, but if you feel like you just can't come up with a great design on your own, click here.
5) PROMOTION, PROMOTION, PROMOTION:
Possibly the hardest task man has ever faced! Promotion can literally take months, and even years. It's not pretty, but some one has got to do it. It can be easy if you are willing to spend the money though.
