1. How did you start your online business? LinkCounter.com, part of the Net3Media.com network, was created in March, 2000. We created LinkCounter with one goal in mind - to provide webmasters a free and unbiased reporting tool for tracking links on their site. LinkCounter, formed by 3 Internet friends, is 10,000 members strong in 2 short months of service.
2. How does your business help webmasters? LinkCounter gives webmasters the ability to track all action on links on their site. Whether it's a link exchange or an affiliate program you've joined, you now have a 3rd party reporting tool for demanding accountability. You no longer have to guess how many hits you are sending to your link partners. LinkCounter acts as an invisible gateway between your site and your out traffic and will generate daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly reports so you "know for certain" what links are your most popular.
3. How did you go about promoting your web site? We generate traffic through various channels, with cross-promotion our number 1 method. Since our service if free to use, we also ask our members to help promote us by placing a small button on their site. And finally, word of mouth. We have created a valuable service and are certain members will recommend us to their friends.
4. When did you start your business? The Net3Media.com network was formed in June, 1999.
5. How has your business grown? We are extremely proud of the fact we have grown from zero to 1.4 million unique hits per month with "zero" marking dollars spent. Our network will continue to grow with more sites providing valuable services to webmasters, as well as fun content for all web users.
6. Do you have any tips for webmasters? Stickiness...give your users a reason to come back. Fresh and unique content is the key to any web site. If you can get someone to bookmark your site, then you've achieved the ultimate compliment.
7. Do you have any other comments? Just one - friendly and personal support. Don't ever think you're too big to answer email. I often remember my first time on the Internet and all the wonderful people who helped me. It's now my turn to give back a little by helping when asked.
